Brink Climate Systems opts for efficient automated pallet transport
KUMATECH recently completed an installation at Brink Climate Systems, a munfacturer of indoor climate control systems. Every day, packaged finished products are transported on pallets from multiple production lines to the shipping department. Since recently, this process has been handled by two Pallet Jacks for a number of specific lines, and on the return journey, they immediately pick up an empty pallet from the Silverline Pallet Dispenser. One trip, two movements.
Solution: 2 x AGV Pallet Jack en 2 x Pallet Dispenser Silverline
Environment: Production environment with multiple production lines
Task: Transport of packaged finished products to the shipping department + return of empty pallets
Transport on these routes was previously carried out by operators using a tractor and carts, which required regular:
- coupling and uncoupling
- waiting for available transport
- switching between different lines
This resulted in additional steps and dependencies in a continuous process. With the introduction of AGVs, this has been replaced by a fixed, predictable logistics flow.
The pallet jacks collect the full pallets at the end of the production lines to take them to the dispatch area, and on the way back they immediately pick up an empty pallet. This ensures a more efficient use of transport within a process that continues to run more smoothly.
The challenge lay in the special pallets with non-standard dimensions, which required a modification to the pallet dispensers. The solution is therefore tailored not only technically but also practically to the customer’s specific situation.
With two pallet jacks serving as a key component, internal transport in this part of the overall process is organised in a predictable manner. Pallets are removed on time, empty pallets are available when needed, and the number of manual operations has been significantly reduced.
