Four Pallet Jacks in 24/7 production environment

KUMATECH recently completed an implementation at a production company with continuous production. Within this 24/7 environment, four Pallet Jacks now handle the entire transport of carts with semi-finished products between various steps in the process.

Within this production environment, work is carried out in shifts and the process runs day and night. The use of AGVs fully supports internal transport along the relevant routes, without the need for additional staff. The Pallet Jacks take over the repetitive transport work and ensure materials are in the right place at the right time.

For this application, the forks of the Pallet Jacks have been slightly modified and extended. It is a relatively minor change, but essential for the trolleys to be able to lift and transport loads reliably. This demonstrates that a solution does not need to be large or complex to make an impact; it simply needs to fit within the process.

The lines shown in the video were marked out for the implementation but are not required for the AGVs to operate. The Pallet Jacks navigate autonomously using their scanners and continuously scan the route. This process, known as continuous mapping, ensures that the vehicle follow its route reliably.
